Hello!
On Friday. September 29th Vision Charter School is having their Fall Festival. Why is this important? First it is a ton of fun for all of the kids, second......they have an auction to help raise funds for our school. Back Story As many of you may know, along with teaching 5th grade, I also teach elementary technology to 3rd-5th grade and after school STEM classes. About 11 years ago, I wrote several grants that enabled me to get a classroom set of brand new iPad minis for all of my elementary students. We have done some amazing tech projects using these devices in the past 11 years! Unfortunately, these iPad minis have now become obsolete, can't be updated, aren't supported and most apps don't run on them anymore. MY GOAL IS TO DO SOME FUNDRAISING TO HELP BUY NEW IPADS TO REPLACE THE CLASS SET I HAVE BEEN USING SINCE 2012. This is a huge undertaking, but I am committed! :) Looking for Donations I am looking for the following donations to be auctioned: *Any big ticket items (car, barbecue, ATV, trip, tickets to events, services.....etc) *Any small items or gifts *Items to help fill a cooler with an outdoor theme *Any themed baskets that someone wants to create *Anything else you can think of My 5th graders are making 3 tie quilts, and I am making a block quilt that all 3rd, 4th and 5th grade classes will contribute to. These will be amazing! :) Anything you can contribute to my efforts to get new functioning ipads in the hands of our elementary kiddos will be appreciated. You can contact me with any questions and/or donations Please share this with any friends or family that might be interested in helping. Ms. Donohue 5th Grade Teacher Elementary Technology Teacher After School STEM Teacher Favorite Saying...... "Think Happy Thoughts" We have officially made it though our first week and are on to our second. What a great group of 5th graders! Do you like our new class picture? We did a silly one as well that you can check out below. We did the usual "getting organized" last week, and we participated in many team building activities that will help to make our classroom a safe and inviting place for everyone. Please remember that we DO HAVE SCHOOL THIS FRIDAY. In fact, our class has earned so many points already that we have a party coming up on Friday. Yay!!!
What great people you have raised! Thank you for sharing them with me this year! ******************************************* Due to some issues with dress code school wide, please read the following: DRESS CODE REMINDER Our dress code must be strictly enforced for students in all grades. Here are the most important pieces of the dress code that are applicable to elementary students:
